As we conceptualize the presence of a Supreme Being or entity called God then the next logical question is did He(no gender intended) communicate to his creation or did He leave us to our own intuitions without a guide or compass? If we cannot answer this question then mankind will be in a dilemma whereby we are never certain if there are any absolute truths. The importance of finding answers to these questions will determine if the rule of man or the laws of God should prevail. A relative and changing morality that relies on the utopian concept of "do unto others as you would like to have done unto you" belies a competing tendency to help oneself at the detriment of others. Ideally, the healthy mental, spiritual and physical existence of human civilization requires a moral guidance that is absolute. Otherwise, our world risks being ruled by the laws of the jungle that can more aptly be described as "survival of the fittest".
The author, in searching for God, investigates religious scripture in a methodical and logical manner. In a quest for "the truth" the Old Testament, New Testament and Koran are explored for linkage, consistency, and continuum in the message of revelation. However, before examining "divine revelation" one must attempt to make a clear distinction between the messages of scripture versus followers of the faith. Followers as well as non-followers of a particular faith may entwine their own culture, superstitions, biases, fears and ignorance with the reality of the revelation and therefore misrepresent the truth of revealed scripture.
This book is a compilation of different concepts derived from multiple sources. The author synthesizes these ideas in a lucid manner so that the reader may reach his own conclusions. The Koran states that the prophet Muhammad is mentioned in the Torah & the Gospel (Koran 7:157). The author studies this Koranic claim in the first part of this book starting with Ishmael, father of the Arabs, whose Hebrew name means "God Hears". Rabbi Glenn Blank (http://www.beitsimcha.com/s_ser/s_ser_0012.asp) affirms translating Ishmael from the Hebrew as "God Hears".
Ishmael's descendents were promised a "Great Nation" (Bible, Genesis 17:20, KJV). In fulfillment of this promise Kedar and Tema (Genesis 25:13-15),who are the sons of Ishmael, are mentioned further in the Old Testament's Book of Isaiah as part of Isaiah's prophetic vision (Isaiah 21:11-17 and 42:1-11). The second part of this book deals with Koranic miracles that are analyzed in detail with scientific definitions, diagrams or pictures.
Those who love knowledge for the sake of enlightenment should find this book engaging and refreshing. The author, a medical doctor, has spent over twenty years analyzing and investigating religious scriptures for irrefutable evidence. This book is an intellectual journey that promises to be a challenging endeavor for serious readers of all faiths.
